What is Royalty Splits & How to Set One Up

Royalty splits let you automatically share earnings from a release with collaborators such as producers, feature artists, engineers, DJs, managers, or anyone else involved. You simply enter each collaborator’s details and the percentage you want to give them, and the system calculates and distributes their share for you.

How to Set Up Royalty Splits

1. Sign in to your MusicDigi account. 

2. Click the Splits page. (You can also add splits from a specific release page).

3. From the dropdown, select the release you want to add splits to.

4. Click Add Splits. 

5. Add each collaborator’s email and the percentage of revenue you wish to allocate.

6. Click Save. This sends an invite to each collaborator.

How do royalty split invites work?

Collaborators will get an email invitation. 

All collaborators will need to have a MusicDigi account. If they don’t have a MusicDigi account, they’ll receive a 50% discount to sign up.

Once your collaborator logs in, they simply navigate to the Splits page and click Join Split. The split begins only after your collaborator clicks Join Split.

Collaborators cannot see your sales reports, release details, or other collaborators. They only see the royalties you allocated to them, which will appear in their Wallet.

You can add more collaborators, edit their percentages, or remove them at any time by visiting the Splits page or the specific release page and clicking Add Splits again.
